Mason Sewer Lining Project

Mason Sewer Lining Project

The Department of Water Management is scheduled began a sewer lining project on North Mason between West Seminole and West Bryn Mawr on Thursday, August 17.

This project will rehabilitate the existing sewer without the conventional digging method. This sewer rehabilitation will minimize, if not eliminate, street cave-ins due to failure in old sewers. In addition, it will bring better drainage to the area and may help alleviate flooding during heavy rain.

During work days, mobilization will start at 4:00 pm. Actual work will begin at 5:00 pm. Work is expected to be completed at 1:00 am. “No Parking” signs will be posted in the immediate area of work a day before any work is scheduled to occur. Residents are urged to move their vehicles away from the work site to avoid being towed. It will be necessary to close the lanes to traffic to ensure public safety during work hours. Equipment and materials will be on street during the work. If necessary, detours and alternative bus stops will be posted.

To prevent odors in your home during the main sewer lining project, please pour two to three cups of water into each basement floor drain and restrict your water usage as much as possible. An engineer will also be on site during the project to answer any questions from the residents.

The sewer lining project is expected to be completed by October 2017.
