I want to invite you to a community meeting about a proposed shopping center development at the Six Corners intersection that will continue the revitalization of this historic area. The meeting is at 6:30 pm Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Filament Theatre, 4041 N. Milwaukee.
The builder, Clark Street Development, will provide a summary of its plan to build a 100,000-square foot, single floor shopping center at the former site of Bank of America, 4747 W. Irving Park. The center will be a mix of large retailers and smaller tenants.
The building will comply with the pedestrian street designation, and about 270 parking spaces are planned on the roof.
The Six Corners Association has worked closely with Clark Street to develop a shopping center that further bolsters the growth of Six Corners. The development will include a plaza a the Six Corners intersection, cut-outs to accommodate sidewalk cafes and and a covered pedestrian cut-through on the roof.
The project will require a zoning change, from B1-1 to B3-2, and the building will require a planned development agreement governing almost all aspects of the project.
Come, learn more about the proposal, and offer your ideas of how to the make this significant project better.
