“I applaud the Mayor’s decision to remove 50 cameras from the city’s red light camera program, include the camera at Foster and Elston, but we need to go further. I have advocated for a comprehensive reform of this corrupt money-grab for years. We need substantive hearings on whether the red light camera program should continue, along with reliable data on if the cameras are effective in improving public safety. I will continue to fight against corrupt programs like this and for openness and transparency throughout city government.”
